China’s Natural Gas Demand to Rise by 6.5-7.7% in 2024

China’s natural gas consumption is expected to rise by 6.5-7.7% on the year in 2024, according to a report issued by the National Energy Administration, cited by Xinhua.

  • Total natural gas consumption will reach up to 425 bcm.
  • Meanwhile, China’s total natural gas output will be 246 bcm in 2024, up 10 bcm.
  • The report predicted that the global supply of natural gas will remain relatively sufficient in H2 2024, although this is at risk from geopolitical conflicts and extreme weather.
