China’s Yulong To Receive Crude Import Quotas For New Refinery

China’s Yulong Petrochemical has received 300,000 tons of crude oil import quotas for 2023 in order to secure feedstock for its trial run for a new refinery in the Shangdong province according to JLC and Longzhong, cited by Reuters.

  • Yulong was notified about the quota directly by the Ministry of Commerce, both consultancies added.
  • The new 400kbpd refinery is expected to start up its CDU in 1Q 2024.
  • The refinery is also adding a 1.5mtpa ethylene complex, which is scheduled to be commissioned end 2024.
