STOCKS: Chinese equities were the only game in town during Monday's Asia-Pac
session.
- The aforementioned supportive measures outlined and adopted by policymakers
over the last couple of days didn't do much to stem the losses for Chinese
equity markets on Monday, with mainland shares crashing lower in the wake of the
post-LNY re-open.
- Short selling bans, talk of regulatory advisories suggesting that brokerage
traders should not be net sellers of Chinese equities this week, liquidity
provisions and cuts to the rates applied to today's PBoC OMOs failed to prop the
space up.
- However, the measures seemingly provided support for U.S. equity index
futures.
- Nikkei 225 -1.1%, Hang Seng +0.1%, CSI 300 -8.2%, ASX 2009 -1.2%.
- S&P 500 futures +20, DJIA futures +160, NASDAQ 100 futures +70
