LNG

After months of year-on-year declines in China’s LNG imports, February volumes rebounded, up by 4% from the same period last year according to ICIS.

  • This is the first time that monthly Chinese LNG imports made a year-on-year increase since January 2022.
  • ICIS forecasts that China LNG demand could rise to 72m tonnes in 2023, up by 15% from 2022 but still 9% lower than 2021’s record.
