Chinese Product Exports Surge on Increased Quotas

(MNI London) - China exported 2.1 million tonnes of diesel last month, double the level of October and up from 600,000 tonnes in the same period in 2021, data from the General Administration of Customs showed Sunday.

  • Exports of gasoline were 1.49 million tonnes in November, up from 1 million tonnes a month earlier and 810,000 tonnes a year earlier.
  • The increase in exports were fuelled by Beijing’s decision to add additional export quotas to help alleviate domestic product builds against lockdown measures.
  • China's LNG imports fell 5.4% from a year earlier to 6.42 million tonnes. Over the first 11 months, LNG imports were 20.1% below a year earlier at 56.88 million tonnes.
