CHINA PRESS: Chinese state-owned enterprises governed by the Assets Supervision
and Administration Commission (SASAC) would be actively and strategically
restructured, according to a report in the China Securities Journal. Citing
SASAC spokesman Peng Huagang, the report said that the restructuring would
initially focus on the equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding and chemical
sectors. Peng said the SASAC would also focus on promoting the integration of
SOEs in sectors such of power, non-ferrous metals, steel, marine equipment and
environmental protection in the near future.
