Citi Analysts Say Trump Policies Can’t Reverse Energy Transition: Bloomberg

  • Citigroup ESG analysts led by Anita McBain wrote there remains a “sense of optimism” that the energy transition will prevail despite the Trump administration’s determination to repeal Biden policy.
  • The energy transition is more advanced at this time than was the case during Trump’s first term, and the desire to generate cheap, secures sources of power fir the “smart, technologically innovative, policy-supportive and economically viable solutions” that green energy offers.
  • Trump signed executive orders upon assuming office to dismantle the climate agenda of Biden, including withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord, and halting more than $11 billion in international climate assistance.
