CNB's Mora To Speak At Seminar

CZECHIA
  • Speaking after a meeting with his V4 counterparts, Interior Minister Vit Rakusan noted that Czechia could only accept tens of thousands more Ukrainian refugees this winter as accommodation capacity is reaching its limit. The issue may grow in relevance across Eastern Europe as winter sets in after a series of Russian missile strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
  • Prime Minister Petr Fiala told President Milos Zeman that he would need some more time before nominating Petr Hladik as new Environment Minister in order to "clear up all the ambiguities" surrounding corruption allegations against him. Head of Hladiks's Christian Democrats party said that he expects his colleagues to be nominated by the end of the month.
  • CNB Deputy Governor Marek Mora will speak at a seminar on effective monetary policy communication from the top of the hour. Mora belongs to the hawkish wing of the MPC and his term expires in February.
