COP Outperforms To Start Week, Confidence Data

  • The Colombian peso was one of the best performing currencies on Monday as the weaker greenback, rallying equities and firmer crude prices bolstered the advance. Industrial and retail confidence indicators may be released today, in an otherwise vacant economic calendar this week.
  • Colombia is studying whether to import natural gas and light crude from Venezuela to cut fuel costs. The Andean nation is also considering participating in oil exploration in Venezuela, Colombian Energy Minister Andrés Camacho said on Monday.
