INDONESIA: Country Wrap:  Indonesia to Implement Minimum Tax for MNC.

  • Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, has signalled on the implementation of the global minimum tax in 2025 in line with an international agreement signed by more than 140 countries on December 31, 2024 with a minimum tax rate of 15% for multi-nationals with turnover of at least EUR750m.  (source: Indonesia Business Post).
  • Jakarta still pursuing FTA with US under Trump (source: Jakarta Post)
  • In what was a generally positive day across the region, the Jakarta Composite was up +0.29%, following on from last week’s positive week on the back of the surprise rate cut.
  • IDR: currencies had a weak start in the region but turned around with the rupiah +0.092% today at 16,365.
  • Bonds: yields were mixed across the curve with front end marginally lower and the intermediates higher in yield.  INDOGB 10YR 7.153%  (+1.5bps).
