Crude Net Longs Most Bullish Since March 2022

OIL POSITIONING

Crude managed money net long positions rose again to the highest since March 2022 according to Commitments of Traders data released on Friday. The combined net long positions for Brent and WTI increased by another +27k to 522k with WTI at a 19 month high and Brent at a six month high.

  • ICE Gasoil net long positions drifted lower again to the least bullish in eight weeks but Nymex diesel was slightly higher on the week.
    • ICE Brent net longs increased by +18k to 266k
    • Nymex WTI net longs increased by +15k to 294k
    • ICE Gasoil fell by -7k to +59k
    • Nymex diesel increased by +1k to +36k
    • Nymex gasoline fell by -6k to 65k
