Cuba set to Import Oil and Oil Product from Russia

Cuba has reached a deal to import 1.64 million tonnes of oil and oil products per year from Russian according to Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.

  • "for a stable supply of oil from the Russian Federation to Cuba. This would be a supply of 1.64 million tonnes of oil and petroleum products annually, and Rosneft is ready to implement this project," the Cuban prime minister said.
  • Cuba has suffered from long term issues sourcing fuel while Russia looks to diversify with new trading partners – most recently importing its first crude cargo to Pakistan.
