Czech Republic to Manage Without Druzhba Flows: Official

The Czech Republic will cope without Druzha oil flows according to Czech energy security envoy Vaclav Bartuska on Friday.

  • His response came after Ukrainian presidential aide Mykhailo Podolyak said that flows of Russian oil would stop from January.
  • "In addition to gas, the Druzhba pipeline will also cease operations starting 1 January 2025," Podolyak said.
  • A Druzhba shutdown would also impact Hungarian and Slovakian supply.
  • Ukraine has already halted Lukoil flows via the pipeline which has prompted other Russian suppliers like Tatneft to boost flows instead.
