CZK: Koruna Snaps Four-Day Winning Streak

CZK

EUR/CZK trades +0.021 at 25.281 and bulls continue to look for a move through Nov 6 high of 25.449 before setting their sights on Aug 1 high of 25.535. On the flip side, following a break below the 50-DMA yesterday, bears look for a fall through the 100-DMA, which kicks in at 25.235.

  • New Pirate Party leader Zdenek Hrib arrived at the Prime Minister's Office to meet with Prime Minister Petr Fiala and they may discuss options for future cooperation. Later in the day, Fiala and his ministers will comment on the fulfilment of the targets set at the beginning of their tenure. Meanwhile, Denik N reported that Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky (ex-Pirate Party) could run in next year's parliamentary election as candidate of the liberal TOP 09 party.
  • The CNB kept the countercyclical buffer (CCyB) rate unchanged at 1.25%, with other key macroprudential parameters also left on hold.
  • CZGB yields are mixed across the curve, albeit the longer end (10-15s) has firmer a tad.
