- DA accuses Ramaphosa of aiding in state capture by presiding over a cadre deployment committee in the ANC (2018-2021) it says is the “root of state capture.”
- DA says it has evidence from 2018 of the secret committee’s existence where party members were appointed to key institutions without proper qualifications.
- After compiling evidence, the DA says it will lay a formal complaint with the Public Service Commission for an investigation
- Industrial Gas Users Association warns gas prices could surge 220% due to a flawed pricing methodology by energy regulator Nersa. The Association has challenged Nersa in court to set aside a maximum price application.
- It argues that using international prices as a reference point is a major flaw, as these prices have no bearing nor reflect local market conditions. International prices have rocketed due to factors that have nothing to do with the local market
- Judge Zondo says Tourism minister Sisulu’s attack on the judiciary and constitution is unacceptable and expects further action against her.
- Sisulu says she is conferring with her legal team over the press conference and has since penned yet another opinion piece in response to some of the criticism she has received, saying she is protected by freedom of speech in the Constitution
