Datapraxis/YouGov Poll: Macron 51%, Le Pen 49%
Latest poll from Datapraxis/YouGov on behalf of the New Statesman magazine has incumebent President Emmaneul Macron on 51% to right-winger Marine Le Pen's 49% in a hypothetical second-round match up. This gap would be within the margin of error of the poll.
- Datapraxis/@YouGov poll: Presidential run-off :Macron: 51% (-3%) Le Pen: 49% (+3%) Fieldwork: 4-7 April 2022. Sample size: 1783 (1326 with non-voters removed). Changes from 28-31 March 2022 (1 week).Full tables: https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/fjg18u456t/France_Vote...
- First round polling has Macron and Le Pen going through to the run-off with 26% and 23% support respectively. Left-winger Jean-Luc Melenchon coming in third place on 16%.

- Paul Hilder of Datapraxis: "All our data suggests the second round is now too close to call. Le Pen’s reserves – people on the fence for the second round, but who think Macron would be worse – are more positive about her and could mobilise more easily, while Macron’s supposed reserves – many left voters amongst them – mostly hate him too. He is close to his ceiling, but she has room to grow. Whatever happens, this will be the best result ever for the French far right.”
