Betting markets see little in first Republican presidential debate, which took place yesterday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to impact the race for the GOP nomination.
- According to Smarkets, former President Donald Trump is still runaway favourite with an implied probability of 72.5% of winning.
- The biggest change was a temporary drop for outsider Vivek Ramaswamy who was the target of sustained attacks on his experience and non-traditional foreign policy positions. Ramaswamy saw his implied probability of winning drop to 8.7%, down from nearly 15% ahead of the debate.
- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) remains static after a debate where he failed to distinguish himself nor be targeted by other candidates.
