US DATA: December factory orders +0.1%, below the +0.9% expected by MNI 
and +0.8% Bloomberg consensus, with durable goods orders revised up to 
+1.2%, nondurable goods orders -1.0% on declines in petroleum and coal 
products, paper products, and beverages and tobacco products. 
- Excluding +3.2% transportation orders, factory orders would have been 
-0.6%. Durables ex. trans. +0.1% from flat reading in the advanced 
estimate.
- Nondefense capital goods new orders +3.4%, but -1.0 ex aircraft.    
- Total factory shipments were -0.2% in December, with nondefense 
capital goods shipments +0.1%, but flat ex aircraft.
- Factory inventories flat, so combined with the advance estimates of 
+1.1% for wholesale inventories and +0.9% for retail inventories, this 
would result in +0.6% for business inventories.
