Defence Minister Reznikov May Step Down, Become Ambassador To UK

UKRAINE

Ukrainska Pravda reports that Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov will be dismissed in the near future and parliament could consider his resignation next week. According to Pravda's sources, the most likely candidate to replace Reznikov is Rustem Umyerov, head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

  • These reports have been confirmed by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, an MP for the Holos party, via his Telegram account. The lawmaker adds that Reznikov is considered for the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the UK.
  • Rumours about Reznikov's imminent dismissal have been doing the rounds for some time, with the official expressing readiness to step down earlier this year. However, those rumours have not materialised so far.
