House Democrats have unveiled a resolution charging President Trump with one article of impeachment for the 'incitement of insurrection'. The resolution is set to be presented to the House of Representatives today at 1100ET (1600GMT, 1700CET).
- The resolution states that Trump incited insurrection with his claims of 'rigged' elections and through his attempt to overturn the presidential election result in the state of Georgia in a call with Georgia's Secretary of State Brad Raffesnperger.
- If approved, it would be the second time that Trump has been impeached following the House vote in early 2020 that saw him impeached but not removed from office.
