Denmark’s Tyra Gas Field Restarts Production

NATGAS

Denmark’s largest natural gas field, Tyra, has restarted production on 21 March, operator TotalEnergies said.

  • The initial filling of the pipeline is not intended for the market but part of the commissioning process, the firm said.
  • The field is expected to reach the technical capacity of 8.1mcm/d in four months.
  • Tyra was temporarily shut for redevelopment in 2019 after the seabed had sunk several metres under its platforms.
  • The restart would make Denmark self-sufficient and a net exporter of natural gas.
