DOLLAR
DOLLAR: DXY last sits almost unch. at 96.11, ahead of U.S. President Trump's
postponed State of the Union address, due at the top of the hour. This comes
after the dollar index added 22 pips yesterday.
- Both WTI & gold trade virtually unch.
- DXY bulls look to yesterday's high of 96.19 and breaching the level would
allow them to target the 50-DMA at 96.38. Conversely, bears need a fall below
the 21-DMA at 95.89, ahead of yesterday's low of 95.81.
- Besides the presidential speech, U.S. focus today turns to trade balance
figures, as well as remarks from Fed's Quarles in late NY/early Asia hours.
