E3 Diplos Voice 'Concern' Over Tehran's Nuclear Deal Demands

IRAN

Following the conclusion of the latest round of talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA, the Iran nuclear deal), diplomats from France, Germany and the UK (E3) have voiced their 'disappointment and concern' with Tehran's demands. In a joint statement they state that Tehran is seeking to walk back 'almost all the difficult compromises crafted after many months of hard work'.

  • The change in Iranian stance comes with a change in gov't, with the transition of power from reformist President Hassan Rouhani to hardliner Ebrahim Raisi resuliting in a much less cooperative stance from Tehran towards talks.
