East of Suez Refinery Maintenance Key Updates
See the latest news on refinery maintenance in the East of Suez region.
- In the UAE, Adnoc completed a planned turnaround at its 817kbpd Ruwais refinery complex in early March according to Argus.
- In Saudi Arabia, PetroRabigh is likely to have restarted a gasoline unit at the 400kbpd Rabigh refinery that shut in December according to Argus. However, this has not been confirmed.
- In India, Reliance Industries and Bharat Petroleum had maintenance at the 1.24mnbpd Jamnagar and 240kbpd Mumbai refineries respectively during September-November, Argus said.
- HPCL shut the 3mn tons CDU at the 9.5mn tons Mumbai refinery in early March for scheduled maintenance for the duration of 45 days until mid-April according to company executives.
- HPCL plans to start operating the new 180kbpd Barmer refinery in Rajasthan by the end of December and reach full capacity in about a year's time according to head of refineries S Bharatan.
- In Pakistan, PRL resumed operation at the Pakistan refinery on 8 March, the firm said in a statement. Maintenance started in late January.
- In China, an independent refinery in Dongying has been undergoing maintenance on CDU units, with 2.4m mtpa of CDU capacity offline from 7 January. The duration is unconfirmed.
- A second independent refinery in Dongying has seen the whole refinery down for maintenance since 25 January, taking 2.6m mtpa of CDU capacity offline. Maintenance will be completed in April.
- An independent refinery at Weifang has seen the whole refinery down for maintenance, with 2.4m mtpa of CDU capacity offline since 31 January. Maintenance will be completed in March.
- An independent refinery in Rizhao is completely down for maintenance, taking 3.5 mtpa of CDU capacity offline from 31 January until March.
- An independent refinery in Dongying is on rotation from H2 Feb with the end date unknown.
- In Vietnam, the Dunq Quat refinery is planning maintenance for 48 days starting 15 March, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemicals said.
- In South Korea, SK Innovation plans a scheduled maintenance at the 240kbpd No. 4 CDU at the 840kbpd Ulsan refinery in June, sources told Bloomberg. Works at the unit are scheduled to last for around one month. The firm is also planning a one-month maintenance at one of its other CDUs at the refinery.
