MNI BRIEF: Canada NDP Will Bring Nonconfidence Motion In Jan.
Canada's opposition leader says 'this government's time is up.'
MNI (OTTAWA) - Canada's opposition NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said Friday he will introduce a motion of nonconfidence in Justin Trudeau's Liberal government after Parliament returns near the end of January, after months of resisting calls from the other parties to combine and force a snap election.
"No matter who is leading the Liberal Party, this government’s time is up. We will put forward a clear motion of non-confidence in the next sitting of the House of Commons," Singh said in a letter distributed to reporters. In a separate social media post he wrote "The NDP will vote to bring this government down." (See: MNI INTERVIEW: Trudeau Cabinet Disarray Fuels Trump Trade Risk)
