--The European Commission's ESI is seen broadly unchanged in Sept, with markets
pencilling in a marginal decline of 0.1 points. 
--Flash consumer confidence (20% of the ESI) improved to -6.5 in Sep.
--Meanwhile, industrial confidence (40% of the ESI) rebound in Aug to -5.9,
following Jul's drop to a 71-month low. 
--Markets look for industrial sentiment to edge down by 0.1pt to -6.0 in Sep 
--Although, the EZ's flash composite PMI remained in expansion territory it
plummeted to a 75-month low (50.4) in Sep. 
--The flash services PMI fell to 52.0 in Sept and the manufacturing PMI slumped
to a 83-month low of 45.6 in Sep.
- The EZ's flash PMI report notes that the manufacturing downturn is deepening
further and signs of a spill over to the service sector are intensifying.
