Economy Minister Caputo Expects March CPI Around 10% M/m

  • The central bank will publish its monthly expectations survey later today. In the week ahead, February industrial production figures will be released tomorrow, followed by March CPI data on Friday.
  • Economy Minister Luis Caputo said in an interview with TN on Friday that March CPI will be around 10% m/m, vs. +13.2% m/m in February. Caputo also said that food prices fell by between 3% and 5% in the first week of April.
  • Analysts currently expect the CPI index to rise by 11.85% m/m in March, taking the annual rate up to almost 292% y/y.
