EGB SUMMARY: EGBs are fairly listless so far Wednesday with the exception of
BTPs, which are pushing higher as the Italian government prepares to meet.
- Dec 18 Bund futures are up 4 ticks at 161.06, having traded in a range of
160.94-161.18 today. Curve is trading fairly flat, 2-Yr yield down 0.5bps at
-0.586%, 5-Yr down 0.5bps at -0.241%, 10-Yr down 1bps at 0.34%.
- BTPs faring better, Dec 18 future up 38 ticks at 124.01, having seen a high of
124.11 today. 10-Yr outperforming, yield down 4.4bps at 3.245%.
- Ansa reports Conte, Salvini, Di Maio, and Tria to discuss the budget after the
government meeting to be held at 1200GMT.
- Urgency may be increasing: Politico report Tues evening suggested the EC was
going to accelerate the process of putting Italy into the EDP.
- Euribor futures up slightly, 0.5-1.0 ticks across most contracts.
- EMU corporate lending slowed in October to 3.9% Y/Y from 4.3% in September
(which was a post-crisis high).
- ECB speakers later today include Coeure, Guindos, and Praet.
