are today's focus, while Italian bonds continue to rally.
- Our ECB preview went out yesterday; contact us if you want a copy. Attention
will be focused on the bank's strategic review.
- Strong spike in BTP futures, no real driver, as the relief rally continues
following initial sell-off yesterday post-Di Maio quitting headlines.
- Over 5k IK lifted between 143.60 to 143.99, may help explain spike. Other
headlines that gov't will remain intact not a surprise.
- Mar BTP futures on the highs, up 101 ticks at 144.08 (L: 143.18 / H: 144.08),
while Italy / German 10-Yr spread 5.1bps tighter at 155.7bps.
- Bunds appear to be rising on the follow; Mar futures (RX) up 28 ticks at
172.61 (L: 172.35 / H: 172.62).
- Mar Gilt futures (G) up 26 ticks at 133.76 (L: 133.7 / H: 133.84)
- Plenty of supply today: France sells nominal OATs/linkers up to E10.25bln;
Spain sells up to E5.5bln. UK DMO selling GBP250mln of Aug-48 linker.
- Very thin data slate.
