EGBs-GILTS: On The Back Foot

BOND SUMMARY

Bunds and Gilts are lower in early Thursday trade, but well within Wednesday's trading range, with periphery spreads mixed. Equities have continued to grind higher after the immediate rebound from Wednesday's low.

  • This morning sees Spain sell up to E6bln nominal and France up to E13.5bln of nominal and linkers.
  • Apart from supply, main items on the calendar are ECB speakers (incl Lane alongside Eurogroup's Donohoe at 1000BST, Lagarde / Holzmann at 1250BST, and Villeroy at 1545BST). BOE's Cunliffe speaks at 1005BST.
  • Data out earlier showed German PPI hitting a 10-Yr high in April (in line w expectations).
