ELECTRICITY: Finnish-Swedish Power Link Capacity Limited Until Mid-Oct

Finnish-Swedish transmission capacity will be limited over September-October owing to maintenance and construction works, likely increasing the sensitivity of power price fluctuations, Fingrid said today.

  • Transmission capacity between Northern Finland-Sweden will have to be limited across September, with Finnish-Swedish capacity lowered to 600MW (usually 1.1GW) and in the other direction also at 600MW (usually 1.2GW).
  • And capacity between South-West Finland and Sweden will be reduced until the middle of October, with capacity in the Finnish-Swedish direction at 0-400MW (usually 600MW) and Sweden-Finland at 600MW (usually 1.2GW).
