EnBW To Raise LNG Purchase Commitment For Planned Stade Terminal

EnBW will double its annual purchasing pledge to 6bcm of LNG from the planned Stade inland port on the river Elbe, the firm said.

  • The planned land-based hub could be operational from 2026 with a regasification capacity of 13.3bcm per year. The final investment decision for Stade’s Hanseatic Energy Hub is due in mid-2023.
  • Stade, which in January received pledges by state-controlled Sefe to buy 4bcm of LNG annually from 2027, therefore has now booked 80% of its production capacity.
  • Ahed of the land-based hub, a German state-funded FSRU is expected to be operational at Stade at the start of the 2023/24 winter period.
