Energy / Financials Underperforming

EQUITIES

European equities are well off early highs, with energy and financials underperforming. U.S. futures continue to trade (slightly higher with tech outperforming as per the usual recent rotation / post-pandemic risk-off trade) but cash markets are closed for Thanksgiving.

  • Asian markets closed higher, with Japan's NIKKEI up 240.45 pts or +0.91% at 26537.31 and the TOPIX up 10.58 pts or +0.6% at 1778.25China's SHANGHAI closed up 7.406 pts or +0.22% at 3369.733 and the HANG SENG ended 149.7 pts higher or +0.56% at 26819.45
  • European equities are higher, with the German Dax up 0.74 pts or +0.01% at 13290.65, FTSE 100 down 37.87 pts or -0.59% at 6377.54, CAC 40 down 2.47 pts or -0.04% at 5575.59 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 0.09 pts or +0% at 3515.59.
  • U.S. futures are a little higher, with the Dow Jones mini up 17 pts or +0.06% at 29845, S&P 500 mini up 4 pts or +0.11% at 3631.25, NASDAQ mini up 44.5 pts or +0.37% at 12196.5.
