ENERGY: Norway’s August Oil and Gas Output Above Forecast

Norway’s August oil and gas output was above the official forecast according to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate.

  • Oil, NGL and condensate production fell to 1.765mbpd in August from 1.827mbpd in July but higher than the official forecast of 1.642mbpd. Oil production fell to 1.982mbpd from 2.083mbpd last month but above the forecast of 1.878mbpd by 7.5%.
  • Natural gas production fell to 348.7mcm/d in August from 360.7mcm/d in July, but exceeded a forecast of 314.6mcm/d by 10.8%.
  • The total petroleum production so far in 2024 is about 165.0mcm oil equivalents and 8.4mcm oil equivalents higher than 2023.
