ENERGY: What to Watch: Genscape and EIA Inventories & US Fed

  • The latest Genscape European ARA crude inventories will be released today at 09:00BST. Stocks last week edged lower to remain near normal at 53.1mbbl.
  • The EIA weekly petroleum inventory data for the week ending Sept. 13 is due for release today at 10:30ET (15:30BST). A Bloomberg survey expects a 0.2mbbl draw in U.S. crude stocks, a 1.1mbbl build in gasoline and a 1.0mbbl build in distillates while refinery utilisation falls 1.26%.
  • The US Fed rate decision is expected at 14:00 ET. Bloomberg consensus is forecasting a 25bp cut but there is significant speculation that the first move will be 50bp.
  • The update to the JODI world oil and gas database is due today with global supply and demand data for July.
