Engie Advances 2024-2026 Power Hedging At Lower Prices

Engie has advanced its outright power hedges for nuclear and hydropower generation in Belgium and France quarte on quarter, while price have declined, the firm said.

  • Engie had hedged 89% of its nuclear and hydro production of 2024 at an average price of €110/MWh at the end of Q2. This was up from 81% hedged at a price of €118/MWh at the end of Q1.
  • For 2025, the firm had hedged 45% of its output at an average price of €126/MWh as of the end of Q2. This was up from 33% hedged at €139/MWh at the end of the first quarter.
  • For 2026 – which excludes Belgian nuclear production – the firm has hedged 31% of its output at €96/MWh as of the end of June. This was up from 25% hedged at €103/MWh at the end of Q1.
