  • Erdogan eyes measures to help exporters and boost the economy ahead of 2023 elections. Measures aim to restructure Eximbank and see the cancellation of security deposits to help ease export-related bottlenecks and narrow the trade gap.
    • Erdogan also proposed an export development fund with contributions from exporters to help remove required security deposits
  • Erdogan set to address the UN tomorrow & meet with US investors where he is expected to emphasize strong support for multilateralism and establishing a fairer order.
    • Erdogan also noted he will meet Greek PM Mitsotakis on the sidelines of the UNGA this week. Comes after Greece said it would issue Turkey with a demarche over harassment of a research vessel off Crete mapping the possible course of the EastMed pipeline over the weekend with Turkish warships prohibiting the vessel from moving 6 nautical miles beyond Greece's territorial waters
  • CHP pulls closer to the HDP, saying the solution to the decades-long issue with the pro-Kurdish party is to view the party as a legitimate organ. Meanwhile the AKP and MHP continue to press for the HDP's closure with its deadline to create a defence against accusations of terror links/activity drawing nearer
  • AKP Lawmaker says a migrant influx is inevitable if the EU fails to fulfil its promises of humanitarian aid to Turkey. Says EU's refugee policy is irresponsible, unlawful, unintelligent and should implement an integration programme which accepts an adequate number of migrants.
    • Notes financial aid alone will not solve this crisis. On Sunday Turkey's interior ministry also ordered the demolition of Syrian homes in Altindag, Ankara due to a lack of permits. This is also where an anti-Syrian demonstration occurred in August
