Erdogan: Turkey To Take What It's Entitled To In Black, Aegean, Med Seas

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivering fiery rhetoric this morning, stating that while Turkey does not "covet anyone's land, sovereignty or interests" it would not step back from 'taking what it is entitled to' in the Black, Aegean, and Mediterranean seas, adding that "we will not make any concessions".

  • This comes amidst an increasingly bitter dispute between Greece, Cyprus and the wider EU, and Turkey over hydrocarbon extraction rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.
  • EU defence ministers meet today, while EU foreign ministers meet Thursday and Friday, and relations with Turkey are likely to be one of the highest-priority topics of conversation.
