Eskom Implements Stage 4 Loadshedding Until Thursday Morning

SOUTH AFRICA

Eskom says in a statement that "due to the breakdowns of eight generating units on Tuesday evening, Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 today until 05:00 on Thursday. Thereafter, varying stages of loadshedding will be implemented until Saturday evening."

  • The full schedule shows that the utility will implement Stage 3 loadshedding between 05:00 and 16:00 before reverting to Stage 4. It will then move between Stages 2 and 4 on Friday and Saturday.
  • Eskom says that "demand of electricity is expected to increase towards the weekend." This may be related to weather forecasts pointing to a "dramatic drop in temperature" towards the end of the week.
