Eskom Tweaks Load-Shedding Schedule to Incorporate Monday Cuts

  • Eskom have again tweaked their load-shedding schedule and will resume the roll out of power cuts from today after suspending the action over the weekend. 2,000MW cuts begin from 5am this morning, to persist for 24 hours.
  • Money supply and private sector credit data came in ahead of expectations this morning, with September money supply higher by 8.75% vs. Exp. 8.30%.
  • Datapoints are few and far between Monday, with just the September trade balance data on the docket. Markets expect a surplus of R6.2bln.
