Estonia to Launch Offshore Wind Auctions in June-July

Estonia’s Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) will launch auctions for offshore wind farms in the Saare 2.1, Saare 2.2 and Saare 3 areas in the Baltic Sea in June-July, according to the TTJA.

• The auction for Saare 2.1 will take place from 18-20 June.
• The auction for Saare 2.2 will take place from 26-28 June.
• The auction for Saare 3 will take from place 2-4 July.
• Estonia Offshore Wind DevCo, Norway’s Deep Wind Offshore and Utilitas Wind have submitted applications for Saare 2.1 and Saare 2.2.
• Firm’s Sunly Wind, Estonia Offshore Wind DevCo, Deep Wind Offshore and Utilitas Wind have applied to the Saare 3 area.
• The starting bid price for Saare 2.1 area is €2,457,000 the starting price for Saare 2.2 area is €1,327,500 and the starting price for Saare 3 area is €301,500.
• The minimum bid increment is set at €50,000.
• The winner is determined by who made the highest bid and paid that amount. The winner must submit an EIA program to the TTJA within 18 months and an EIA report within 24 months.
