EU Daily Renewables: CWE Wind Output Higher Next Week

Forecasts for wind output across central western Europe for next week have been revised up, while output for most of this week remains low according to Spotrenewables.

  • German solar PV output is forecast to remain above a 30% load factor for the remainder of this week before dropping to load factors of 14-28% during peak-load hours next week.
  • French solar PV output is forecast at 4.3-6.4GW during peak-load hours in the next nine days. Wind output in France is forecast at 4.41-8.35GW for next week.
  • Forecasts for wind output in the UK are suggesting higher output From Sunday. Wind generation is expected at 3.1-10.5GW in the period to 22 September.
  • Forecasts for low wind output on Thursday in Germany, 2.1GW during base-load hours, has supported German spot prices that widened the premium to the French market.
  • The German Epex Spot day-ahead base-load power settlement rose by €10.53/MWh to €120.47/MWh.
  • The French Epex Spot day-ahead base-load power fell to €100.94/MWh, down from €105.63/MWh the day prior.
