EU Daily Renewables Forecast: Wind Remains Low Across CWE

Forecasts for wind output across central western Europe remain seasonally low, while solar photovoltaic generation is expected to remain high for the remainder of this week and next week according to spotrenewables.

  • Forecasts for combined onshore and offshore wind output in Germany are at 762MW to 10.8GW during base-load hours in the period until 16 September, reaching a maximum load factor of 17%. Solar output in Germany is forecast to ease back from mid-next week to load factors of 21-34% during peak-load hours, down from this week of around 40%.
  • Solar PV output in France is expected to remain strong in the next nine days to range between 4.9GW to 7.8GW during peak-load hours.
  • Hot weather in France is forecast to continue to boost power demand that is forecast to range between 45.3-53.8GW on 9-16 September, RTE data show.
  • Wind output forecasts for Norway have been revised up on the day to 777MW-1.9GW during base-load hours in the period until 16 September.
