EU Gas Maintenance: Norway’s Kollsnes Works Extended

Norwegian gas supplies to Europe stood at 133.5mcm/d today, slightly recovering from yesterday’s lows. Gas flows to the continent will remain further restricted this weekend following an outage extension to the large Kollsnes facilities.

  • Unavailable capacity for Saturday has been revised up to 219.56mcm/d, from around 189mcm/d yesterday.
  • Maintenance at the 153mcm/d Kollsnes gas processing facility gas has been extended by one day until 10 Sept. The large Troll field is also scheduled to return some capacity to the market on 10 Sept.
  • The 25.8mcm/d Asta Hansteen maintenance has also been extended until 10 Sept, however, the duration remains uncertain. Some capacity curtailments are scheduled on 10-11 Sept.
  • Ormen Lange maintenance will begin on Sunday limiting output by 24.5mcm/d. Works are scheduled to be completed by 2 Oct.
  • Works at the Sleipner field, affecting 8.2mcm/d, began today and will run until 20 Sept. Maintenance at the Gina Krog gas terminal and field also started today.
  • Maintenance at the BBL pipeline is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.
  • In France, annual maintenance at the Fos Cavaou LNG terminal began today. The terminal will have no ships and no fuel sendout until 2 Oct.
  • The Dunkirk gas terminal was scheduled to conclude maintenance affecting 47mcm/d today. Some additional capacity reductions of 5.2mcm/d have started today.
