EU Gas Maintenance: Norwegian Supplies Remain Reduced

Maintenance extensions to Norwegian gas facilities and fields continues to weigh on gas pipeline supplies to Europe, Gassco remit data show.

  • Natural gas flows from Norway to Europe recovered slightly on the day and stood at 144mcm/d today. Unavailable capacity for Thursday and Friday is expected at 189.84mcm/d and139.44mcm/d respectively.
  • The maintenance at the 125mcm/d Troll field has been extended by one day until 15 September. The field was initially scheduled to bring the bulk of the capacity back online on 7 September. Unavailable capacity will drop to 95mcm/d on 15-16 September, to 45mcm/d on 16-18 September and to 6mcm/d on 18 September to 5 October.
  • Works at Kollsnes, limiting availability by 73mcm/d, have been extended by two days until 16 September. 11mcm/d will be unavailable from 14 September until 16 October.
  • Maintenance at Aasta Hansteen has been extended by one day until 15 Sept until which 25.8mcm/d will be unavailable. This will reduce to 12.9mcm/d on 15-16 Sept.
  • Works at Ormen Lange, curtailing output by 18.5mcm/d, will end one day later on 17 Sept. From 17 September until 5 October availability will be reduced by 24.5mcm/d.
  • Karsto works will end on three days earlier on 14 September.
