EU LNG Imports to Slide This Week

LNG imports into Europe and Turkey increased to 3.2bcm last week but are estimated to fall to 1.9bcm this week, according to Kpler data, cited by Montel.

  • LNG imports into Europe and Turkey stood at 11.5bcm in March, the lowest in six months.
  • Imports this month are also down on the year, with weekly LNG supply averaging 3.7bcm in April 2023.
  • The front month NWE LNG Spark futures settled at $8.106/mmbtu on 5 April.
  • “While global LNG supply remains healthy, an uptick in demand from Europe and northeast Asia at the beginning of the injecting season, is likely to support prices,” said analysts at LSEG in a note.
