EU Minister Warns Amendments To Court Law Could Complicate Talks With Brussels

  • Poland's EU Minister Szynkowski vel Sek said that every amendment to the court bill drafted by the government in coordination with the European Commission risks reopening negotiations with Brussels. He noted that the government is consulting the proposed bill with the President, Justice Ministry and opposition parties.
  • 51% of respondents in a TOK FM/Oko.press survey said they were not satisfied with how the country changed since Law and Justice took power in 2015, as the ruling party is seeking to regain the upper hand ahead of next year's election.
  • The Finance Ministry's Chief Economist Lukasz Czernicki told DGP that this year's general government deficit will be around 3.5% of GDP, according to calculations based on EU methodology.
