EU to Drop Article 7 Procedure Against Poland

  • EU's Von der Leyen states the EU are to drop action against Poland over rule-of-law concerns. She writes: "Today, marks a new chapter for Poland. After more than 6 years, we believe that the Article 7 procedure can be closed.

  • Not unexpected, but still a notable step forward for EU-Poland relations. Earlier this year, the Polish justice minister had presented EU ministers with a full action plan on restoring rule-of-law - detailing nine separate bills that would ensure Warsaw were back onside.
