EMISSIONS: EUA Funds Positioning More Bearish For First Time Since December

Speculator positioning in EU ETS futures on the ICE exchange turned more bearish for the first time after more bullish positioning for seven consecutive weeks, the latest COT data as of 14 February showed.

  • Investment Funds net long positionings decreased by 1,821 to +58,671.
  • Investment Firm net short positionings edged up by 1,669 to -331,500.
  • Commercial Undertaking net long positionings were increased by 2,012 +206,505.
  • EU ETS Dec25 allowances saw a weekly net decline of around 2.9% last week, with forecasts for milder weather and a pullback in EU gas and power prices.
