CEE FX: EUR Spike Tips CE3 Currencies Into Positive Territory

The recent uptick in EURUSD is working in favour of CE3 FX, with each of HUF, PLN and CZK now in the green versus both the single currency and the greenback.

  • The Hungarian forint remains the outperformer across the region following the stronger-than-expected GDP figures for Q4 released this morning, with EURHUF testing recent lows near 407.00 at typing.
  • Price action for PLN is relatively more muted, though EURPLN remains within close proximity to the key 4.20 handle. While this level has been pierced, a clear break would signal scope for a more sustained move lower towards 4.1822, the 2.764 projection of the Nov 6 - 7 - 12 ‘24 price swing.
